The 5 cities you must visit before you die

A wise person once said, once a year, visit a place you have never been before. Explore the world to get some perspective, and unwind to find inner peace. To help you get some inspiration, this list puts together the five best holiday destinations around the world; all you have left to do is pack your bags and decide where to head first!

1.      Paris, France

Considered to be the most romantic city in the world, Paris is the ideal destination for not only couples, but families and lone travellers as well.

Amongst the many recognisable landmarks you will find here, the most famous has to be the Eiffel Tower. You can either take an elevator to the top for a birds eye view of the city, or enjoy a picnic on the Parc du Champs de Mars and gaze up at the iconic monument. Come sundown, the tower sparkles with thousands of bulbs which illuminate the entire city and provide spectacular views.

2.      London, England

Steeped in history, London is a vibrant and invigorating city that cannot be encompassed in one visit alone.

Perhaps the most well known and fascinating aspect of England is the monarchy, and a trip to London will enable you to experience the world of the Queen first hand. The London residence of the Queen, Buckingham Palace, is open to visitors to tour during the summer months, and all its grandeur and opulence is available for the public to view. Take a look at the exquisite interiors and hear a detailed history of each room with the audio guide included with admission.

3.      Tokyo, Japan

Constantly buzzing with movement, Tokyo is the largest metropolitan area in the world and one of the most tech savvy cities.

Japan’s contribution to world cuisine comes in the form of the ever faddish sushi, and where better to feast upon authentic sushi than the capital of its country of origin. For an unforgettable experience, visit the Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, which claims to be the largest fish market in the world. The freshness of the food and the skills of the chefs manning the many stalls is unrivalled.

 4.      Rome, Italy

Sheathed in myth and legends, Rome is a magical city with plenty to explore. The structures left behind from bygone eras, the gelato and the rich cosmopolitan culture combine to make it one of the most influential and beautiful cities in the world.

One thing that is on every visitors ‘to-do’ list whilst in Rome is a visit to the Trevi Fountain. Completed in the 18th century, this fountain displays baroque design with mythical figures. According to local lore, throwing coins into this fountain will give you the good fortune to return to Rome, as well as potentially fall in love with and marry a Roman.

5.      New York City, United States of America

The most populous city in America, the Big Apple is sophisticated, charming and the world leader in everything from fashion to finance.

Central Park, located in the heart of the city, is partially a park, a museum and a concert hall, and is flanked by some of the most popular attractions of the city. There is an extensive amount of sights to be seen here, including restaurants and a zoo.
