Find The Perfect Places With A Tour Package In Istanbul

When you want to find something interesting in Turkey, would you know where to look? There are places such as the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque or even the Grand Bazaar, but they are all major tourist traps that some might not be interested in seeing. Instead, there are dozens of really interesting locations across the country, many of which are just as interesting as the major tourist centres described above. It is a good idea to visit Istanbul, even it is just the once, in order to experience everything that the city has to offer. It is no longer the capital of the area, but it is a cultural, religious and tourist heartland that many people will only see once. In order to get the best from a visit to this city, it is best to book one of the many tour packages Turkey has to offer, and get a personal guide around the city.

Things to See in Istanbul

Outside of the standard tourist spots, there is still plenty to see and do inside Istanbul. A Bosphorus cruise is one way to see Istanbul from a different angle. The Bosphorus is a significant waterway, cutting off Europe from Asia, but also forming a connection between the two worlds. Taking the cruise allows tourists to see the amazing wooden and marble buildings of the Ottomans, as well as more modern residences in this now exclusive area. There are also exciting and interesting features nearby, including the Bosphorus Bridge which allows tourists to move from Europe to the Middle East in just a few steps.

Close by, the Camlica Hill view allows tourists to view the city, and the deep waters of the Bosphorus, from the top. Stay until dusk, and allow yourself to see the city quieten, and then come to life with lights and nightclubs, while the Bosphorus gradually turns black as the last of the sun fades. After a long trip like that, most tourists will be glad to get back to their Istanbul hotel and have an early night.

Tourists can also visit the Istiklal Caddesi, a street in the city which serves as a main tourist street. There is the Galata at one end, with small winding lanes paved with cobblestones, and a mix of synagogues, churches, mosques and hamams, or bathhouses. There is also the busy Taksim Square, where many come to shop and to trade.

Art in Istanbul

Something which is less well-known about the city is the amazing number of art galleries which have sprung up in Istanbul. There is the Museum of Contemporary Art, and then the Istanbul Modern art museum. Visitors are able to view exhibitions that would not be out of place in the Tate or in New York’s famous art galleries. Anyone with an interest in either modern art, or in more classical forms, will be able to find what they are looking for in Istanbul

Istanbul at Night

The cultural capital of Turkey is also famous for its amazing nightlife. Their clubs are not just ordinary party venues, but are Superclubs, with demanding bouncers and high prices for drinks. However, they are loved for a sophistication and elegance above anything else which Turkey can offer. The majority of people working in the city like to spend their day on the international market, and then come into nightclubs between Ortakoy and Kurucesme. This mile of clubs also features celebrities, models, and businessmen from all over the world.

Istanbul Bathhouses

The bathhouses of the Middle East have an almost mythological status, and in Istanbul it is possible to see bathhouses as the Ottomans once used them. The Old City has a number of old Hamams including the Cemberlitas Hamami, and the Cagaloglu Hamami, both built by members of the royal family and both hundreds of years old. Using the facilities here is rather like taking a bath in Buckingham Palace.

With so many different things to see in Istanbul, it is sad that most tourists only see the major attractions, and never experience some of the other wonders which the city has to offer. If you want something more than the traditional, then booking one of the more unusual tour packages Turkey has to offer might be one way to really experience this beautiful country as it should be seen.
