Visit Los Cabos

Located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula is Los Cabos, the Mexican resort town famed for its beautiful beaches, brilliant waters, and plethora of tourists. At one time a quiet and remote area of the country, Los Cabos is now booming with travelers hoping to soak in the sun, play a round of golf, or take a dive in the deep blue.

Where to Stay: Great Resorts

Los Cabos is famous for its 5 Star resorts, which are dotted along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The resorts range in price and services, and you can find everything from a basic hotel room to a private villa. Resorts such as the Villas Del Mar even offer a private chef and butler for each of their guests.

With spa services, exercise facilities, private yacht tours, serene pools, and excellent concierge services and accommodations, Los Cabos offers perfect lodging options for whatever your heart desires.

What to Eat: The Best Restaurants

With a fusion of American and Mexican cuisine available, you won’t go hungry in Los Cabos.

For traditional Mexican food—you are, after all, vacationing in Mexico!—check out Baja Cantina Beach. The restaurant is nestled into a cozy part of the beach, and is picturesque at night when lit by torchlight. The restaurant has live jazz music twice a week, making it a fun place to have a drink. Don’t doubt the food either—not only does this place have traditional Mexican favorites, you’ll also find sushi and seafood, too. A romantic and fun atmosphere, you might want to leave the kids home for this one.

For a fun environment that everyone will love, head to Crazy Lobster Bar & Grill. With inexpensive lobster and a mariachi band to serenade you, you’ll love the laid-back atmosphere of this local favorite. Oh, and tequila shots are only $3.

To celebrate a special occasion, or to simply treat yourself to something nice, Edith’s Restaurant is an upscale dining option located near Medano Beach. With a unique spin on traditional cuisine, you’ll love the main dishes, sauces, and wines that Edith’s has to offer. Make reservations or dine later for a quieter experience.

The Mango Deck offers views of Lover’s Beach, and is perfect for dinner or a delicious Sunday brunch. With a variety of entrée and drink options seven days a week, the Mango Deck is a favorite amongst tourists.  It also gets crazy in the evenings! And don’t be afraid to buy a mango from the beach vendors. It will be the best mango you have ever eaten.

If you are looking for an authentic lunch, there is a tiny nameless taqueria right off the beach on Av del Pescador, it’s painted green, and I they sell the best tacos for about a buck a piece.

For an affordable breakfast that’s to die for, try Sharky’s.  Great prices, fantastic salsas, and the huevos rancheros is amazing!

What to Do: Activities and Excursions

For a romantic day trip, head to Lover’s Beach with your sweetheart and take a stroll in the sand or a gaze across the ocean. With jutting cliffs and rocks, Lover’s Beach is a paradise removed from the hectic chaos of other parts of the town.

If you love to golf, try the Palmilla Resort Golf Course. The 27-hole course is both beautiful and challenging, and you’ll be able to view the Sea of Cortez on every hole.

Favorite activities also include snorkeling tours, glass bottom boat rides, hiking, zip line excursions, kayaking, and parasailing.
